***EARLY LAFAYETTE PEOPLE'S STATE BANK

The People's State Bank.

No more convincing evidence of the prosperous condition of The People's State Bank of Lafayette could be offered than the quarterly statement published in another column of this paper. The deposits of the bank now muster up to the handsome total of $63,308.08. In addition to further increasing the surplus of the institution, the directors, at a regular meeting held last Tuesday, declared another semi-annual dividend of four per cent. People's State Bank.
Elsewhere in this issue of The Advertiser is published a statement of the condition of the People's State Bank, of Lafayette, for the quarter ending Dec. 31st. 1894. It will be observed from this report that this institution continues to maintain its position as one of the most flourishing banks in the state. In a comparatively short time it has accumulated a surplus of $4,500.00. This must be a highly satisfactory record to the stockholders especially when it is taken into consideration that a dividend of 8 per cent has been paid on stock annually, ever since the organization of the bank. The directors declared a semi-annual dividend of 4 per cent, at a regular meeting of the board last Tuesday, payable the 20th. instant. Lafayette Advertiser 1/12/1895.

Cashier Crow Girard attended the meeting of Louisiana bankers at New Orleans on the 11th inst., called for the purpose of effecting a permanent organization of the Louisiana State Bankers' Association.
